Last month Nate and I headed south to pick up our camper in Santa Cruz. Before heading back to the city we made sure to take in some much needed January sun by the cliffs. I stood silent for minutes, mesmerized by dozens of surfers. I can't think of what else in life there is to envy.

Later that week we stayed up to watch the Diana Vreeland documentary, The Eye Has To Travel. Aside from basically inventing fashion journalism and being the first American editor to publish a photograph of Mick Jagger (when British Vogue refused), I was moved to discover she also harbored an unconsummated love of surfing.
